# Data Transfer Component - Not able to using a Session ID

Currently Data Transfer Component, Source type HTTPS, is not able to connect using a Session ID , is there any work around.

Hi @srinadhan_samudrala and welcome to the community!

I’ve had a quick look through our support documents and can’t see anything related at this time. While I go and check in with the team, could I ask if the component has worked previously and have you checked the [documentation here?](https://docs.matillion.com/metl/docs/2953509/)

Hi @srinadhan_samudrala, have you had any success with the documentation that I shared? I have spoken to the team about this as well and they said that the component does not have a concept of a session and the only configurable options are username/password and URL. If those cannot be used, the component is not suitable for your usecase.
