# How are you using Maia Skills? Versioning and model changes

We’ve started using Maia Skills (`SKILL.md` under `.matillion/maia/skills/`). Curious how others are actually using them.

A few things I’m trying to figure out:

1. How have you leveraged skills so far? Any patterns that work well (or don’t)?
2. How do you version them? They’re just files in git, but do you treat them like pipelines, pin versions, keep a changelog, something else?
3. When Maia changes the model and a skill starts behaving differently, how do you deal with that? Rewrite the skill, pin something, add tests?

Would love to hear what’s working.

@jktran2 Hello! Great to see that you are using Maia skills.

I have two questions!

1. What have you been using skills to accomplish so far?
2. Are there any built-in skills you wish Maia Team had, or skills you wish you could download, edit, and upload to Maia yourself?

I’ve been using skills for data profiling, promotion, linting, end-to-end testing, and building pipelines.
