DPC & Maia for BigQuery

I was wondering if anyone else is successfully using Matillion ETL for BigQuery, but waiting patiently for the Data Productivity Cloud version for BigQuery. If its not coming, it would be useful to know.

Hi @Lightbody

Its great to hear from you, I hope you are all good!

I appreciate you asking about this, it is something that is on the teams radar, I noticed you raised an idea for this too, that is the perfect thing to do, any news or updates will be added to that.

If you need anything else, please let me know.

Kind regards, Joe

I have been using Matillion ETL for Snowflake for about 4 years. Hosted in our AWS. How is Data Productivity Cloud different? Assuming what I have is the PaaS version and DPC is your SaaS platform and it is not available for BigQuery?

With our Matillion ETL instance, we still have a normal VM to manage (including ugrading it from time to time) but as I understand it, the DPC is proper PaaS where there’s nothing for us to manage. Maybe I got that wrong.

The other big difference, and the one that is annoying me now, is that Maia - which is the only thing Matillion Marketing & PR seem to be talking about - is only available in DPC.

Hi @CR295672

The Data Productivity Cloud is different to Matillion ETL, as @Lightbody mentioned, It is a fully SaaS experience and offers the use of Maia, an agentic data team layer on top of DPC that helps you run 10X faster. There are also no manual upgrades in DPC, as with Matillion ETL, which some users find cumbersome.

There is so much you can do and achieve with the Data Productivity Cloud. If you head here, you can see just how powerful it is.

I’m happy to arrange a demo for you if you’d like to see the difference yourself and discuss it with a technical expert.

Kind regards, Joe
