Migration Tool Improvements

Hi folks,

I’m the Product Manager for the Matillion ETL → Data Productivity Cloud migration tool used for moving across pipelines.

We designed the migration tool to remove the manual effort of rebuilding your pipelines from scratch, and although it doesn’t do everything we believe it will massively reduce the time needed to migrate your workload successfully.

However, I’m very interested in your real world experiences of the tool. Please let us know on this thread:

  1. What is working well?
  2. What blockers have you hit?
  3. Do you have any suggestions for improvements that would reduce your manual rebuild time?

Let me know on this thread!

We plan to migrate from Matillion ETL to DPC. I would like to know if you have tool that can migrate jobs in bulk and also provide the comprehensive migration report.

Also, is there a way we can pull out list of components used in the Matillion ETL jobs? Example: Salesforce_Query component is deprecated in DPC. If we are able to pull out list of components that we have used, we can be prepared for the respective components in DPC.

Thanks,
Prasanth Amarala

Hi @prasantha and a very warm welcome to the Matillion Community!

Thanks so much for your question. Let me take this to the team so that I can get as much information as possible for you. If you have any other questions in the mean time, feel free to add them here.

Many thanks,
Claire

Hi Prasanth, thanks for your question.

The migration tool within Data Productivity Cloud allows you to import multiple Matillion ETL jobs simultaneously. Is this what you had in mind when referring to migrating jobs in bulk?

In terms of listing out the components used in your Matillion ETL jobs, Matillion has a migration readiness assessment process which can provide this information. I’d recommend speaking with your account team at Matillion to find out how they can provide this to you.
