Error: Sap Odp Extract Component i.e. SAP JCo library not installed

Hello Everyone,

I'm encountering difficulties with connecting the SAP ODP extract components in Matillion,

Currently I am using free trial account provided by sap hana and managed to configure setup for this issue following link

https://docs.matillion.com/metl/docs/sap-odp-extract/

Matillion ETL Support

I have added the required files and restarted the tomcat

but I am still getting the same error message i.e. SAP JCo library not installed.

Can you please guide me on the same and if there is any way we can explore the sap odp extract component in free trial without facing this issue.

Kind regards,

Aniruddh

Hi @banerjeeaniruddh2

Thanks for your post, sorry to hear you have hit this issue, I just wanted to check you have read over this specific area of our documentation and set everything up in line with this.

Kind regards, Joe

Hi @JoeCommunityManager (Matillion Limited) ,

1. I've already gone through the links you shared and implemented the step mentioned and also posted them in our inline chat, but I'm still encountering the same issue - the SAP JCo library isn't installed.

2. Currently, I'm using the SAP HANA Cockpit free trial version to connect with the SAP ODP component in the Matillion ETL tool.

Connecting with the Database Query component went smoothly without any problems.

3. However, I'm facing difficulty obtaining the necessary files, namely sapjco-3.0.jar and libsapjco3.

as I don't have access to download them from the SAP official website due to the limitations of the free trial. I managed to get it from some other sites.

4. Could you please provide guidance on how to address this issue? Additionally, I'm wondering if there's an alternative way to explore the SAP ODP extract

component in the free trial without encountering the "SAP JCo library not installed" error.

5. Lastly, it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide the latest versions of the two files (sapjco-3.0.jar and libsapjco3.so),

which I can then use to set up the SAP JCo library. I'll attempt a fresh Tomcat restart after incorporating these files and will reach out

if I encounter any further issues.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @JoeCommunityManager ,

Can you please look into this issue.

Hi @aniruddhbanerjee4

I spoke with our team and there could be a number of things preventing this, we would recommend in this case to raise a support case here, our team will be able to take a closer look into that for you.

Please do let us know the solution once it has been resolved.

Hi @JoeCommunityManager ,

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding our recent discussion. Despite diligently following Mervin's solution steps, I regret to inform you that the issue still persists. I'm patiently awaiting the files requested from Mervin:

libsapjco3.so - JCo connection library

sapjco3.jar - Java wrapper

Once I receive these files, I'll promptly proceed with the steps as advised by mervin and check if the issue still persist.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated, and I'll keep you updated on the progress.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Kind regards,

Aniruddh
