How to access locally created SQL database from Matillion Data Loader?

Hi,

  • SSMS 12 is set up in the local. It is having windows as well as SQL server authentication using the link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vng0P8Gfx2g
  • We are providing the below inputs for connecting to SQL server. Attached below is the HOST_NAME() received from SQL which we are passing as the Server Address in Matillion.

Hello,

 

When you say "local" do they mean on your PC? Most PCs have a firewall stopping inbound connections, IT policies might block you from editing these settings.

Furthermore, the internal hostname of the PC typically won't be recognised by an external service such as MDL, you would need to use the public IP address of the PC, the one found by googling "what is my IP"
