I am new to Matillion and trying to follow along with the Migration course from Matillion academy https://academy.matillion.com/certifications.
The course includes migrating the data from Microsoft SQL Server to Snowflake. I have Matillion instance hosted on Azure cloud. I am not able to connect to MSSQL.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Karishma
Hello @karishma.shah27
Welcome to the Matillion Community!
If you're looking to load your data from MSSQL into Snowflake, you can use the out-of-the-box Database Query component we have in the product. With the right credentials for your MSSQL database, you should be able to upload any table into Snowflake using this specific component.
For this specific task, we recommend following our documentation page where we have information about the Database Query component. Also, this specific section of the Matillion Academy course (Migration) will give you a really good indication of one way to carry on with this process.
I hope this helps, please do keep us posted.
Kind regards, Joe
Hello Joe,
Thank you for your response.
I am using the Database query component itself. I am getting an unknown host error. I reviewed the documentation and found that there are some prerequisites i.e. whitelisting an IP address.
prerequisites - https://docs.matillion.com/data-productivity-cloud/batch/docs/microsoft-sql-server-batch-pipeline/#set-frequency
I have not whitelisted the IPs yet. Is this the reason I am getting an error?
Regards,
Karishma
Hello,
It sounds like that may be the cause of the error yes.
Kind regards, Joe
