I am planning to run matillion in AWS for my own learning purpose. Can I run matillion on t3.Micro, Since this comes 750 free per month. I see Matillion is recommending t2 or t3 medium instance for 1 to 2 users. But t2 or t3 medium is not Free

Can I run matillion on t3.Micro in AWS?

I'm not certian that Matillion will actually run on a t3.micro (with only 1Gb of memory). Has anyone tried this and can share their experience?

 

But anyway once you're out of the 2 week free trial you'll still have to pay the Matillion license fee which is

  • Probably larger than the EC2 cost (their recommended size is a t3.medium, which is outside free tier but is only 4c per hour on demand)
  • Primarily vCPU-based, so will actually be the same on a t3.micro (or even a nano) as a t3.medium

I am 95% sure that the Matillion software is written to not run on any instances except the ones they advertise. Certain features are only available depending on the size of the Matillion instance which tells me they are watching the instance sizes very closely.
