Is it possible to enable validation for a while?

We often have large transformations. The validation of the individual steps takes place after every change but also when you just click on a component to view something. This is incredibly annoying because it costs a lot of time. We really, really wish there was an option somewhere to turn validation on/off. Here in our house alone we have a few developers who think the same way.
