Hi Wonderful people
I have been trying to get the data from source through REST api. as part of that we need to post oauth request and get the bearer token in response.
Then using that token in rest api to get the data.
however when trying in postman, I have been provided with option of using username and password which works and doesn't need client id and client secret, where as in Matillion its mandatory to use those 2 values.
I have attached screenshot from post man which is working. can someone advise how can i map the postman values with matillion to make it work?
Is there any way I can use username password workflow to get response form Oauth?
Any help in this regard is appreciated.
Thank you
Hello @pundrikaxh.z.tripathi
Thank you for your post, When setting up 0Auth in Matillion, It is a requirement to have a client ID and a client secret, without this 0Auth cannot be configured.
If you wish to set up an API via the wizard, there is an option to use a username and password by choosing the basic auth option underneath the auth tab. This should in theory authenticate
the user based on your correct credentials.
I hope that helps, there is also some documentation here that could help with setting this up also.
Have a great day!
Kind regards, Joe
Thank you for your reply. As per screenshot attached, i have tried to replicate similar thing in Matillion ETL
for snowflake Version: 1.59.11 through manage API query profile. but none of the option have similar option as in screenshot attached. can I please request you to guide how i can fill similar details in Matillion as in attached screenshot from postman?
thank you Joe for looking into this.
I have tried that option as well before but not able to get that working and getting error.
So the right way is to get it done through manage oauth, as in postman screenshot i sent before but that is not working in matillion.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.
Thank you

Hi @pundrikaxh.z.tripathi
I would certainly try the Matillion API Wizard to authenticate through a username and password, I have attached some screenshots below:
