Hi Matillion users,
I’m currently running Matillion ETL version 1.51.8 on a GCP VM instance.
I’ve been granted admin privileges, however I do not see any “Software Update” option in the UI.
Under the Admin menu, I only see options like:

Matillion ETL Updates
-
Restart Server
-
User Configuration
From what I understand, newer versions support in-place upgrades via the UI, but it seems this is not available in such an old version.
My questions are:

Is it possible to upgrade from 1.51.8 to 1.78 LTS (or later) in place on GCP?

If not, is the recommended / only supported approach to deploy a new GCP Marketplace VM with the latest LTS and migrate projects and environments via export/import?

Are there any specific precautions or breaking changes when migrating from a very old version like 1.51.x to the latest LTS?
This is related to the recent announcement that versions 1.77 and below will stop functioning after reboot on March 31, 2026, so we want to ensure we follow the correct and supported upgrade path.
